چکیده

In this study, dormitory room and social group assignment data from a college are used to investigate peer effects on students’ decisions switch majors. Results reveal strong evidence of such at both the level. Most notably, level, dense concentration same-major roommates deters students switching majors; having one or two has no significant effect major switching, indicating nonlinearity Such is not observed among members. also that choices new majors affected by peers’ Peers more likely choose same destination than nonpeers. choosing their majors, do necessarily follow peers indiscriminately. Their seem be influenced short-term academic requirements long-term job prospects. Finally, stronger level in most cases.
